First Peoples: Cultures of the Southeast
Travel back in time to discover the rich history, traditions, and innovations of the First Nations peoples who shaped the Southeastern United States. Students will explore tribal governments, storytelling, language, agriculture, foodways, art, and the lasting cultural impact of nations such as the Muscogee (Creek), Cherokee, Seminole, Choctaw, Chickasaw, and others. Through hands-on projects, traditional crafts, cooking, and interactive activities, students will gain a deeper appreciation for the people who first called our region home.
